Recently, five of Bristol's most highly-skilled chefs helped 40 young people from three catering colleges serve up a mouth-watering meal for 70 diners in one of the most famed catering colleges in the country. Nearly £500 was raised to support young people with travel costs in accessing work experience

Coleg Gwent students struck gold and received highly commended status at the recent WorldSkills UK LIVE national finals, beating counterparts from colleges across the UK.

Torfaen Council and Coleg Gwent officially cut the first sod of Torfaen's new post 16 learning centre on Monday 19 November, to mark the beginning of a new era for education in Torfaen.

Brownies of Gwent are adding trade skills to their sash of accolades thanks to Coleg Gwent. The group of 26 Brownies, part of Girlguiding Gwent, are brushing up on their paintwork, woodwork and plumbing skills as they work with the college to create their own bird boxes and fountain pumps to place in woodlands across the borough.

Students, staff and members of the public are invited to help college students create a poppy dress, to commemorate 100 years since the Great War ended.

Coleg Gwent is a finalist in the new Sustainable Wales Awards, which celebrate excellence, innovation and leadership in the sustainability and green energy sectors in Wales.
