This week marks Volunteers’ Week 2021 – an opportunity to appreciate the hard work and valuable contribution of our inspirational learners and the projects they’re involved in alongside their studies.

Every year, learners take part in the Skills Competition Wales to showcase their skills, and our talented and inspirational learners have won a fantastic 24 medals in 2021.

Diana chose to pursue a Personal Training course at Coleg Gwent and she’s grown from strength to strength, winning the gold medal for Personal Training in the 2021 Skills Competition Wales.

When Level 2 Professional Cookery learner, Morgan Upcott, saw the Chefs’ Forum ‘Young Pastry Chef of the Year’ competition, he jumped at the chance to show them what he could do in the patisserie section.

Health and Social Care learner, Casey, jumped at the chance to gain extra knowledge and experience through Mind Matters - a project that supports the mental health and wellbeing of young people through a volunteer training programme.

Our courses allow you to study near to home but go far with your career, as seventeen-year-old Laura Huckbody from Tredegar has found out after being offered a recording contract!
