Our Employer Partnership Pledge, launched in September 2021, continues to grow and strengthen as it approaches its first anniversary this year. In June, we held a networking event for employers at the premises of our latest pledgers, Tiny Rebel Brewery.

Last year, Coleg Gwent was named College of the Year Award in the National Environmental Awards, and we’re proud to be ambassadors for the environment. We continue to champion sustainability and we’re proud to sponsor the National Environmental Entrepreneur Award this year.

On 16th June, we held an exciting cross college event for Independent Living Skills learners – ILS FEST 2022! All ILS learners and staff from our 5 campuses were invited to the playing fields behind Torfaen Learning Zone in Cwmbran, for a day to celebrate the ILS community and take part in a range of inclusive activities.

Thursday 16th June saw the return of the annual Coleg Gwent apprenticeship awards, with an in-person celebration being held for the first time in three years to celebrate our amazing apprentices. We had some amazing nominations from both assessors and employers alike!

This Learning Disability week, our interns have reached the end of the first course of a pilot scheme working with different departments of the Facilities team in Nevill Hall Hospital. Learn more about their supported internships in the healthcare setting.
