In a nutshell

If you have a caring nature and like the idea of counselling, this is the ideal course to learn and practise a range of skills as the first step towards becoming a counselling practitioner.

This course is for...

… Anyone who wants to develop counselling skills as a change in career, return to work or as a volunteer.

Course content

The AIM Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills covers a wide range of counselling skills, and is assessed through a mixture of involvement in practical work, assessed use of skills, achievement of specified learning outcomes through written journals and a final 1-hour written examination.

On successful completion of the course, you could progress to the AIM Certificate in Counselling Level 3.

Entry Requirements

No formal entry requirements are needed but you should be at least 19 years of age, have a keen interest in the subject and have a caring and empathetic approach.

You will need to have digital literacy skills and access to a device, as work will be completed and submitted electronically.
