If you are studying part time then it’s important you arrange your placement before enrolling. If you are studying full time then we will arrange your placements for you.
This course is for...
…anyone who wants to work with children or young adults in a classroom situation
…anyone who wants to be a classroom assistant or learning and support assistant
Course content
The course recognises the essential support work carried out in schools and colleges, and is designed to help progression and transfer across the children's workforce within schools and colleges. You will complete 11 units throughout the year, some will be assessed in your school/college placement and most units you will produce written assignments.
It develops knowledge that will be valuable for voluntary and paid workers, through studying a range of units relating to working with children in a classroom situation. Each unit is assessed separately through a range of assessment methods.
Following on from this course, you could progress to the CACHE Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
