You'll need a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C or above or an appropriate Level 2 Diploma qualification.

What will I be doing?

Studio Recording Techniques
You will be continually assessed throughout the year, mostly through practical assignments and you will rehearse, plan, and perform in 3 major music events throughout the year. Your skills as a musician and as a team member will be developed and challenged.
You will have access to a theatre with excellent sound and lighting facilities which will be used during your workshop sessions and music nights. You will use our Mac suites running Logic X for sequencing and our newly refurbished recording studios for making that all important demo recording.
What is expected of me?
Full commitment to attendance is required. Respect for others, enthusiasm for the subject and self-motivation along with creative ability and a desire to succeed are the essential qualities we expect to see in all our learners.
You must be able to play an instrument and vocalists would benefit from being able to play, or start to learn to play, an instrument.
What qualifications you will achieve:

BTEC Level 3 National Foundation Diploma (year 1) L3 National Foundation Extended Diploma (Year 2).

Advanced Welsh Baccalaureate

If you did not achieve a C grade or above in Maths or English, you will need to re-sit.
What comes next?
Successful completion of the first-year course will allow you to progress on to the second-year and complete the full extended diploma.
From there, progression routes include entry to H.E. or the new BA Audio Production and Songwriting 3-year qualification (Available at Crosskeys Campus).
Additional information
As part of the entry requirements, you will be expected to attend a taster session where you will take part in an audition.
