In a nutshell

You’ll develop knowledge and understanding of the business sector, enabling you to acquire technical and employability skills and to gain a nationally recognised vocational qualification.

What will I be doing?

You will focus on the skills that employers are really looking for, such as communication, numeracy, presentation skills, analysis, interpretation, application and evaluation of information. Typical units include:

• Enterprise in the business world
• Promoting a brand
• Law and consumer rights

What is expected of me?

Entry requirements are a minimum of 4 GCSEs grade D or above to include either Maths/Maths Numeracy or English/Welsh First Language; OR an appropriate Level 1 Diploma qualification in the relevant vocational area to include either GCSE Maths/Maths Numeracy or English/Welsh First Language grade.

Full commitment to attendance is required, as well as respect for others, enthusiasm for the subject and self-motivation. You’ll be continually assessed through coursework, which will include written and practical activities, as well as examinations, and there is an expectation that you will continue your studies and coursework during your own time.
