Statement from Coleg Gwent

In preparation of Coleg Gwent’s Torfaen Learning Zone opening in September 2020, the college is relocating its hairdressing and beauty therapy and construction provision from its Pontypool campus.

The hairdressing and beauty therapy provision will be available at the Blaenau Gwent Learning Zone, Crosskeys campus and City of Newport campus with construction available at City of Newport campus and the Blaenau Gwent Learning Zone from September 2019.

We held an open forum with our learners to gather their feedback, answer questions and provide reassurance that we are looking in to additional transport needed where there is a lack of existing public service bus routes. The questions and answers from this session have been documented and uploaded to our website here. The college will also be providing transport to taster events for learners considering the move to help with a smooth transition.

We are working closely with the local authorities, our current students and school pupils in the Torfaen county to make sure the transition to the new Torfaen Learning Zone runs as smoothly as possible, ensuring we have our learners’ best interests at heart.
