Apply for Student Finance
Find out what funding you can get and how to apply via Student Finance Wales. If you’re a learner currently living in England please apply via Student Finance England.
It’s essential that when you apply for funding, you list the place of study as your awarding university, for example, if you are studying FD Illustration, the awarding university is The University of South Wales, so you must state this when applying, and then on the next question you will be given the option to select Coleg Gwent as the campus of delivery. If in doubt please email HE@coleggwent.ac.uk and one of our Higher Education Team will help you.
Enrol
Enrolment and induction is usually in early September. Most courses enrol learners online, and some courses enrol face to face on campus, you will receive an email with guidance that relates to your course towards the end of August.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) provides you with an opportunity to gain recognition for previous relevant academic achievements and allows credits to be transferred to the new course to avoid the duplication of previous learning.

Applying was easy! I was nervous because of my age and having worked full time since I left school, I thought that was my only option. The interview stage helped straight away as they answered all of my questions and put me at ease, so I was pleased to get onto the course.
